Specifications of Our Custom Cabinets

Standard Cabinet Construction: Particle Board or Plywood

Face Frame:

3/4” Solid Hardwood with joints fully glued and pocket drilled.

Our Standard Face Frame species:

• Maple
• Alder
• Cherry
• Oak
• Hickory

We also offer many other species per customer’s request.

Finish:

A multi-step finish process has been designed to provide a smooth, durable finish to your cabinets. We use a high quality conversion varnish to provide the extra durability to your kitchen and vanity cabinets.

Interior:

Interior vinyl overlay comes in White or Maple Vinyl.

Sides:

1/2” Industrial grade particle board with vinyl overlay, one sided, exposed ends require factor finished ends.

Top and Bottom:

1/2” Industrial grade particle board with vinyl overlay on two sides on wall cabinets and one side on other cabinets. Tops and bottoms are dadoed into sides, back and the face frame as well as glued and nailed.

Shelf:

5/8” Industrial grade particle board with vinyl overlay on two sides. Exposed edge is machine-banded to match the shelf material. Shelves are adjustable and full depth. Shelf is omitted in sink and vanity cabinets.

Back:

1/2” Industrial grade particle board with vinyl overlay on the inside surface. Back is rabbeted, to receive 1/2 back that is glued and nailed into place.

Toe Kick:

3/4” Industrial grade particle board is recessed between side panels. Toe Kick Skin ordered separately to conceal opening between cabinets.

Blocking:

1-1/2" Hardwood nailer positioned on top of Base and Vanity cabinets and secured with nails. 

Breadboard:

3/4” Hardwood panel glued-up with a pull attached to each end and fitted with metal guides.

Plywood Box:

Same as our standard cabinet construction except we use 1/2” birch in natural finish or 1/2” raw plywood, finished to match cabinet color.

Door Overlays:

We offer three different overlays:

• Standard Overlay: Face frame shows above, below and to the sides of doors and drawer fronts.
• Full Overlay: Doors and drawer fronts are made taller to minimize the gap between doors and drawer to 1/8”.
• Inset: Doors and drawers are mounted inside the frame leaving a 1/8” gap between the edges and the Inside of the frame. Doors and drawers are flush with the frame.

Standard Doweled Drawer Boxes: Particle Board, Plywood and Dovetail

Sides:

5/8” particle board with doweled construction. Edge is machine banded to match.

Ends:

5/8” particle board 2-sides with doweled construction. Edge is machine banded to match. Drawer front is applied to drawer box with screws.

Bottoms:

1/4” Particle board bottom. Captive bottom secured by 1/4" deep dado and stapled into place.

Drawer Guides:

Side mount 80 lb. with white epoxy, 100 lb. side mount ball bearing, or 75 lb. under mount, Soft close. Full extension.
